McShin Foundation to host 22nd Recovery Fest Sept. 19 in Henrico
The McShin Foundation will host its 22nd annual Recovery Fest Saturday, Sept. 19, from noon to 4 p.m. at 2300 Dumbarton Road in Henrico.
The event, held during National Recovery Month, is designed to bring together people in recovery, their families, community partners and supporters. Hilary Phelps, who has publicly shared her own recovery journey, is scheduled to serve as keynote speaker. She is a holistic performance coach, speaker, woman in recovery and founder of The Right Room.
“For 22 years, Recovery Fest has given us an opportunity to celebrate the people who make recovery possible,” said Honesty Liller, CEO of the McShin Foundation. “Recovery is about so much more than overcoming substance use. It is about rebuilding lives, restoring families, and creating hope for the future. Recovery rocks, and we want people to know it.”
The free community celebration will include live music, games, family entertainment, a wellness area, resources, and activities for all ages. McShin, a nonprofit Recovery Community Organization founded in 2004, provides recovery support and residential programs to individuals with substance use disorders, as well as their families.
