Olympic fencing medalists bringing namesake cup to Henrico Nov. 13-15
Olympic medalists Lee Kiefer and Gerek Meinhardt will bring a youth fencing competition to the Henrico Sports & Events Center in November.
The Kiefer Meinhardt Cup will run Nov. 13-15, with competition scheduled Nov. 14-15. Organizers expect more than 1,000 athletes and family members to attend what will be the first fencing event held at the center.
Kiefer is a four-time Olympian and three-time Olympic gold medalist. Meinhardt is a five-time Olympian and two-time bronze medalist. The married couple formed KM Fencing in 2025.
The USA Fencing-sanctioned tournament will include 36 events in men's and women's foil, épée and sabre. Divisions will include Super Youth Circuit competition for Y10, Y12 and Y14 athletes, Regional Junior and Cadet Circuit events, and competition for Y8 fencers. Under a two-year agreement, the cup also is scheduled to return to Henrico Nov. 5-7, 2027.
Registration for this year's event closes Nov. 2. Tournament information is available from the Henrico Sports & Events Center and the AskFRED tournament directory.
