Highland Springs High School

Junior quarterback Dashaun Chisem had a hand in all four Highland Springs touchdowns Thursday as the Springers defeated South County 28-7. Chisem completed 13 of 26 passes for 190 yards and three touchdowns and rushed 11 times for 41 yards, including a 15-yard touchdown run. His scoring passes went to Montell Richardson for 24 yards, Jeremiah White for 41 yards and Jonathan Carter for 37 yards.

White caught seven passes for 110 yards. Devlin Davis helped keep the final touchdown play alive by tipping the pass before Carter secured it. Angel Alegria made all four extra-point attempts, and Marquise Bullock intercepted a South County pass in the fourth quarter. The Springers improved to 3-1.

The Springers’ girls volleyball team also swept Henrico 3-0 Thursday, its second consecutive victory.

Douglas S. Freeman High School

Freeman’s field hockey team shut out Deep Run 4-0 Thursday. The Mavericks improved to 6-2 overall and 3-1 in region play with their third consecutive victory; all three wins in the streak came by shutout.

Deep Run High School

Deep Run fell 4-0 to Freeman in field hockey Thursday.
