The Rotary Club of Innsbrook and the Rotary Club of Western Henrico County recently unveiled the new “Born Learning Trail” at Taylor Farm Park in Sandston.

The project, created in partnership with Henrico County Recreation and Parks department and the United Way of Greater Richmond and Petersburg, is designed to provide a learning experience for preschoolers and their families while promoting school readiness and community engagement. The trail features interactive signs with expert-approved games and activities aimed at nurturing cognitive, social, and physical development in children.

"We appreciate our Rotary Club partners and their efforts to bring this early-learning resource to Taylor Park Farm,” said United Way of ’Greater Richmond and Petersburg’s President and CEO Barbara Sipe. “We are grateful for this partnership that continues to invest into ways to engage and enhance the lives of young people and families in our region.”

The trail officially opened June 24 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring officials from the Rotary Clubs, United Way, Henrico County leaders and children.

Similar interactive learning trails are located at various sites throughout United Way’s region, including Huguenot Park, Flora Hill Park, Pine Camp Cultural Arts and Community Center, Mosby Court Community, Rockwood Park and Bensley Park.

“These educational trails help make learning fun and approachable for kids,” said Mark Deutsch, president of the Rotary Club of Western Henrico County. “We are thrilled to champion this project alongside United Way of Greater Richmond and Petersburg and Henrico County Parks and Recreation and look forward to seeing the positive impact it has for families.”
