Henrico pushes back start times for its two Fourth of July events
Henrico County officials have pushed back the start times for the county’s two Fourth of July celebrations – July 3 at Dorey Park in Varina and July 4 at Crump Park in Glen Allen.
The July 3 event at Dorey Park will now run from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., with gates and concessions opening at 6 p.m. The formal event welcome, national anthem and performance from 5Starr will begin at 7 p.m., followed by an 8:30 p.m. performance by Plunky & Oneness and fireworks and a laser light show at 9:45 p.m.
There also will be a hot air balloon display by Henrico Federal Credit Union.

The July 4 event at Crump Park will now run from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., with gates opening at 5 p.m.
The event will feature a performance by the Richmond Symphony and special guest Desiree Roots, as well as a kids’ zone, costumed Revolutionary War interpreters (with a firing exhibition at 7 p.m.), a hot air balloon display by Henrico Federal Credit Union and a laser light show set to music. The event also will include concessions for purchase but will not include fireworks.
Tucker & The Krewe will perform at 6 p.m., followed by Justin Golden with Devil’s Coattails at 6:55 p.m., an official welcome from county officials at 8 p.m., the Richmond Symphony and Desiree Roots performance (also featuring the Vicinity Chapter of the Gospel Workshop of America) at 8 p.m., the Symphony at 9:15 p.m. and the laser light show at 9:30 p.m.
