Henrico Police to host Spring 2026 rabies clinic March 14
The Henrico County Police Division will hold a rabies vaccination clinic for dogs and cats from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, at the Henrico County Eastern Government Complex (3820 Nine Mile Road).
Pet owners must register and pay at the cashier’s office in the Administration Building before seeing a veterinarian in the adjacent parking lot.
Each vaccine costs $20 and must be paid in cash. A rabies tag and a certificate of inoculation are included. Pets from all localities are welcome. Cats must be in carriers.
Under Virginia law, dogs and cats four months of age and older must be vaccinated for rabies.
Henrico dog licenses will also be available for $10. Licenses are valid for the life of the animal while the owner lives in Henrico and its rabies vaccinations are kept current. Officers will be available to discuss license and vaccination requirements.
As a reminder, as of 2026 the Animal Protection Unit will only hold two rabies clinics annually. The next clinic after March is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Western Henrico Government Center (4301 East Parham Road)
