Henrico Police officials are investigating a string of overnight incidents in which someone vandalized and/or stole items from nearly 40 vehicles in the West End and Sandston.
The incidents occurred between 4 a.m. and 8 a.m. March 11 in the following locations:

- 12000 block of West Broad Street;
- 200 block of Towne Center West Boulevard.
Victims reported that personal items were stolen from the vehicles and nearly all had smashed windows.
“There is a strong indication this crime spree is tied to the same individual(s),” said Henrico Police spokesperson Karina Bolster. “Currently officers are working with the victims and the businesses of the properties to obtain as much evidence as possible to identify a person or persons of interest.”
The preliminary investigation indicates the thief or thieves traveled along the I-64 corridor and stopped at a number of the hotels nearby to commit their crimes, according to police.
