Henrico Police identify man who died after being shot, crashing into tree
Authorities are investigating a late-night shooting that left a 20-year-old man dead in the Varina District earlier this week.
According to Henrico Police, officers received a report of a shooting on Wednesday, June 24, at approximately 11:10 p.m. Officers responded to the 300 block of Kingsridge Road to investigate.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered a vehicle that had crashed into a tree. Inside the vehicle, police located an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
The victim was rushed with life-threatening injuries to a local hospital, where he later died. Police have since identified the deceased as Curtis Whitted Jr., 20, of Henrico.
No details about a possible suspect or motive have been released.
