Henrico Police identify 26-year-old victim of fatal Kain Road crash

Henrico Police have identified the victim in a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred on Kain Road Sept. 16.
Jasmine Senae Woody of Henrico died when the Hyundai Elantra she was driving ran off the road and crashed in a ditch near Willane Road in Short Pump at about 11:55 a.m.
Once on scene, officers and members of the Henrico County Division of Fire located the car in a creek bed near a small bridge. Woody, the vehicle's only occupant, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The preliminary investigation indicated that she had been traveling west on Kain Road when her car ran off the road, striking a tree and the concrete pillar of a bridge before landing in the creek bed. Investigators are continuing to look into what caused the crash but they believe speed was a factor.
