Henrico PAL hosts Grandparents Day breakfast
More than 75 grandparents, parents, and youth attended Henrico Police Athletic League's inaugural Gram Cakes and Coffee gathering, held Sept. 12 in the Henrico PAL auditorium. Guests were greeted by Mr. Christmas and enjoyed a breakfast of pancakes and biscuits served by PAL youth.
HPAL Board President Johnny Newman circled the room visiting with families, paying special homage to the grandmothers and grandfathers at the Grandparents Day celebration. As the event came to an end, Newman also joined the youth volunteers for a thank-you as they relaxed and ate at the end of their shifts.
Leaders at HPAL – one of more than 400 PAL chapters across the U.S. – have said they hope to make the Grandparents Day celebration an annual tradition.
