Henrico County will mark Active Aging Week with two free events next week for adults 50 and older.

The county’s Outreach & Engagement Agency and Division of Recreation & Parks organized the programs. Both are free and open to the public.

Generations Together will be held from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, at Deep Run Recreation Center. The intergenerational program, offered in collaboration with The Span Center, will include crafts, train rides and a fire-truck visit, offering older adults a chance to connect with children through group activities.

The Annual Active Aging Walk and Fitness Forum will take place from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, Oct. 9, at Eastern Henrico Recreation Center. Participants of all abilities may walk the outdoor track, join fitness demonstrations and explore active-living resources. Registration is encouraged but not required.
