Henrico firefighter killed in hit-and-run on interstate
Troopers seek dark blue or black SUV with missing mirror
A Henrico County firefighter was killed Friday night after a dark-colored SUV struck his motorcycle on a Richmond interstate ramp and fled the scene, authorities confirmed Saturday.
Ashtain Noel Davis, 28, of Petersburg, was a recent graduate of Recruit Academy 86, completing fire training in July 2026. He had joined the Henrico Division of Fire in 2025 after a career in armed security and military service, officials said.
Troopers said Davis was thrown from his Harley-Davidson motorcycle after the SUV hit him on the ramp from Interstate 64 west to Interstate 95 south between 11:20 and 11:27 p.m. Friday. He was wearing a helmet and died at the scene.
Based on witness accounts and debris recovered at the scene, troopers believe the vehicle is a dark blue or black 2014-2019 Jeep Cherokee or Compass.
