Henrico begins annual leaf collection services
Henrico County has begun accepting orders for its paid vacuum leaf collection service, while free pickup of bagged leaves will begin Monday, Nov. 9.
Vacuum service orders through contractor Really Clean Streets must be submitted by 3 p.m. Friday for collection the following week. The first and second orders cost $50 each; each additional order costs $100.
Residents using the vacuum service should place loose leaves in the county right of way in front of their homes by Sunday of the scheduled collection week. Piles must be accessible from the street, at least 15 feet from parked vehicles and free of sticks, rocks, trash and other debris.
Free bagged leaf collection will run from Nov. 9 through Feb. 7. The county will make two collections in each zone. Bags should contain only leaves and must be placed at the curb or county right of way by 7 a.m. Monday of the designated collection week. There is no limit on the number of bags.
Zone D is scheduled for collection Nov. 9-15. Residents also may drop off bagged leaves at Henrico’s two public use areas without charge during the collection season. Details and scheduling information are available through Henrico County’s leaf services page.
