Eight people, businesses and groups have been recognized with the 2026 Henrico Heart of Service Awards, in celebration of their community service.

Henrico Board of Supervisors Vice Chair Misty Roundtree (Three Chopt District), County Manager John A. Vithoulkas and other officials recognized the winners earlier this month during a ceremony at the Henrico County Government Center. The event, organized by the Outreach & Engagement Agency, coincided with National Volunteer Week (April 19-25).

Now in its second year, the awards program salutes individuals, nonprofits, businesses and other groups whose volunteer and community service benefits the lives of others.

Based upon nominations submitted by the public, eight recipients were selected in six categories:

• Wayne Clevert, adult (ages 18-59);

• Mike O’Toole and Neil Malakoff, senior (ages 60 and older);

• Teen Summit RVA Regional Youth Advisory Council, youth group (two or more volunteers under age 18);

• Opening Minds through Art, group (two or more volunteers of any age);

• Henrico CASA and The Kiwanis Club of Henrico, nonprofit organization (community, faith-based, etc.);

• Keiter CPAs, business (for profit).

To be eligible for an award, a person must be a resident of Henrico. An organization must be either located in Henrico or provide services that benefit county residents.
