GRTC to introduce streamlined destination signs Oct. 18

GRTC will introduce redesigned destination signs across its bus fleet Sunday, Oct. 18, while making minor schedule adjustments to routes 4A, 4B, 7A and 7B.

The new signs will emphasize each route’s number, travel direction and major corridors. Information will rotate through no more than two screens, and route numbers and directions will remain visible at all times. All signs also will use uppercase lettering for a uniform appearance. GRTC said the changes are intended to help riders identify approaching buses more quickly.

The four affected route schedules will shift by several minutes to improve efficiency and prevent overlapping pickup times at bays in the Downtown Transfer Station. Updated timetables are expected to be posted online before the changes take effect.
