Caring Transitions of Greater Richmond, which provides senior relocation, downsizing and estate sale services, has a new owner. Peter Robinson, a veteran of the senior living industry, has acquired the franchise from local founder Dani Washington. Robinson steps into the role of owner following a 17-year career as the chief marketing officer for LifeSpire of Virginia. In that capacity, he led marketing strategies for retirement communities, including Lakewood Manor in Henrico. Robinson officially assumed control of operations March 1.


Schewels Home, a family-owned furniture store founded in Lynchburg in 1897, recently opened its 52nd store – its second in Henrico – at 3807 Mechanicsville Turnpike in the Fairfield District. Owner Matt Schewel said the company was drawn to the county’s “growing and dynamic market,” according to a social media post by the Henrico Economic and Development Authority. Another recent opening in the Fairfield District is Chesapeake’s Burger Haven. The restaurant opened its second Virginia location at 8340 Brook Road in the Hungarybrook shopping center.


DPR Construction has expanded its Innsbrook office in Henrico County, completing a 9,100-square-foot build-out designed to accommodate workforce growth and increasing demand for technically complex projects throughout the region. With this renovation, DPR now occupies the entire building, which is approximately 24,000 square feet in size. The expansion brings multiple DPR Family of Companies under one roof, creating a more integrated environment for project delivery. Wilson Lee Interiors, a luxury interior design and construction firm, recently opened its newly relocated studio at 11551 Nuckols Road, bringing the company’s range of services (including residential, commercial and hospitality design) into a single location. Chipotle opened its newest Henrico location April 29, at 4071 Concord Creek Place, adjacent to the Springdale Park community near the intersection of Laburnum Avenue and Mechanicsville Turnpike.
