The organization's Youth Ambassador program provides a platform for 15- to 25-year-olds to advocate for literacy and for increased community education and awareness about the importance of reading skills for lifelong benefits. Nominations for the program are now being accepted.

The 4-month youth leadership development initiative will provide training and support, plus connection to 600 other young people around the world. Nearly 60 percent of children from low-income backgrounds do not own a single book and struggle to read, according to the World Literacy Foundation.
