For the third time in four years, U.S. Congressman Rob Wittman (R-VA-01) has received the Guardian of Seniors’ Rights Award from the 60 Plus Association for his efforts to support seniors. The award was presented by 60 Plus Association Founder and Chairman Jim Martin and President Saul Anuzis during a ceremony in Washington, D.C.
The Guardian of Seniors’ Rights Award honors elected officials who demonstrate a commitment to America’s senior citizens.
“I’m grateful for this recognition from the 60 Plus Association,” said Wittman. “Our seniors have spent a lifetime contributing to our communities, and they deserve reliable access to the benefits they’ve earned. I’ll continue working to protect Medicare and Social Security and to ensure our seniors are treated with the dignity and respect they deserve.” During his time in Congress, Wittman has hosted roundtables about Medicare and Social Security programs, led fraud prevention seminars, and called for stronger oversight of nursing homes to ensure quality care.
Wittman intends to support efforts to protect and strengthen programs that matter most to seniors, he said, and will continue advocating for policies that ensure seniors have access to resources, care and support.
