After 27 years of leadership, Orly Lewis, CEO of the Carole and Marcus Weinstein Jewish Community Center, has announced her retirement effective August 31. Lewis was the JCC’s first female leader in its 79-year history.
The Weinstein JCC Board of Directors has named Brad Finkel as Lewis's successor. Finkel, who brings more than 25 years experience from JCC Chicago, will officially begin his role on August 4. In Chicago, he most recently served as CEO; he has also held roles as regional vice president, assistant director, and Camp Chi director.
A lifelong “JCC kid,” Finkel met his wife Rachael through their shared Jewish communal roots and has raised their two children, Blake and Shayna, in the values of Jewish life and service. Finkel holds degrees from Indiana University and the Spertus Institute, and serves on the executive board of Congregation Beth Judea in Buffalo Grove, Illinois.
