Crossroads Art Center, 2016 Staples Mill Road, will hold its March Open House & Artist Reception on Friday, March 20 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Two new exhibits will be unveiled: the Gallery Member Exhibition Theme "Make it New Again! Recycled Materials" and the popular Juried All-Media Show. There also will be book signings by John Bryan and Leah McClure, food, drinks and music. The exhibits will be on display through May 3. Singer-songwriter Susan Greenbaum will perform at the Henrico Theatre, 305 East Nine Mile Road, on Friday, March 20 at 7 p.m. With five CD releases to her credit, Greenbaum's music receives significant national airplay on Americana, folk and country stations. Country/Americana music website Roughstock calls her “a songwriting talent to be reckoned with,” comparing her writing and singing to Mary Chapin Carpenter and Bonnie Raitt. Tickets are $10. The Showmasters Richmond Gun Show will take place at the Richmond Raceway Complex March 21 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and March 22 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be 800 tables selling a diverse range of handguns, rifles, shotguns and antique pistols, as well as ammunition, holsters, safes, carbines, swords, knives, early Indian and Western Americana, militaria of all wars, coins, and more. Concealed carry classes will be offered too. Admission is $14; children aged 12-17 are $6, and children under 12 are admitted free with a supervising adult. Parking is free. Click here for details.

Banjo player extraordinaire Bill Evans will perform at the Shady Grove Coffeehouse, 11105 Cauthorne Road in Glen Allen, on Saturday, March 21 at 7:30 p.m. Evans is the 2022 recipient of the Steve Martin Banjo Prize and is a member of the American Banjo Music Hall of Fame. Regional music fans may remember him from his 1980s progressive bluegrass band Cloud Valley, featuring bassist Missy Raines. Evans also was a member of the Dry Branch Fire Squad, and has collaborated with many other bluegrass musicians. For this concert, he is presenting the Banjo In America in addition to playing a set of duets with his wife, Babi. A duet of them playing "My Favorite Things" can be found on YouTube. Jewish Family Theatre will present Arthur Miller's Broken Glass on March 21 at 8:15 p.m. and on March 22 at 3 p.m. at the Weinstein JCC, 5403 Monument Avenue. This thought-provoking production explores the emotional impact of global events on personal lives and relationships. Set in Brooklyn in 1938, Broken Glass follows Sylvia Gellburg, a Jewish woman who mysteriously loses the use of her legs after reading news reports of anti-Jewish violence in Nazi Germany. As doctors struggle to understand her condition, the crisis reveals fractures within her marriage and raises profound questions about identity, fear and assimilation.
