The Henrico Theatre Company will present "The Friendship and Music of Loretta Lynn and Patsy Cline" at The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen Feb. 6-7 at 7 p.m. (the 3 p.m. shows on Feb. 7-8 are sold out). Starring HTC favorites Shannon Gibson Brown and Jenny Fralin, and accompanied by Joshua Wortham, this stage production is an homage to both country legends. It tells the story of their friendship and features 22 songs including Crazy, She's Got You, Back in Baby's Arms, Sweet Dreams, Coal Miner's Daughter, and more. Tickets are $25. PokeKon, a Pokemon convention, will take place Saturday, Feb. 7 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Four Points by Sheraton Airport Hotel located at 4700 South Laburnum Avenue. PokeKon will feature all things Pokemon including video games, toys, magazines, candy, artwork, apparel and jewelry, trading cards and more. A roster of Pokemon industry professionals and fandom-related celebrities will be in attendance for meet-and-greets. There also will be a cosplay contest. General admission is $20. Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden will celebrate tattoo art inspired by the natural world at Garden Ink on Saturday, Feb. 7 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Three local artists - Faith Anne Butler, Max Murphy, Alex Adam, and Nathan Tersteeg - will share insights into their work and creative process. Explore stunning artwork, meet artists, and enjoy food, drinks and music. There also will be a maker’s market with talented vendors offering unique items such as ceramics, plushies and more. No tattooing will take place during this event. Cost is $20 in advance and $25 at the door for non-members and $15 for Garden members. Pre-registration is encouraged. The Lakeside Love Fest, a local collaborative market event presented by Twisted Carrot Farm, will take place Sunday, Feb. 8 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Lakeside Farmers' Market, 6110 Lakeside Avenue. While the collaborative market is open weekly indoors, the Lakeside Love Fest will expand into the outdoor pavilion to include even more local vendors (50+) to shop from. The Friendship Circle of Virginia and Weinstein Jewish Community Center are teaming up to host a Silent Disco on Sunday, Feb. 8 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the JCC. The afternoon of music, connection and fun is in honor of Jewish Disability Awareness, Acceptance and Inclusion Month this February. All are welcome to move at their own pace and enjoy an inclusive, sensory-friendly experience where kids and teens with and without disabilities can simply be kids—enjoying music, dancing, crafts, and fun activities in a supportive environment. There will be two separate spaces: one for kids 12 and under and one for teens. This is not a drop-off program; parents and caregivers must remain on site. Admission is free.
