Comedian Bruce Bruce will perform at The Richmond Funny Bone in Short Pump at 7 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. Jan. 30, 6:30 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. Jan. 31, and at 6 p.m. Feb. 1. Although known for his adult comedy, Bruce prides himself on not using vulgarity to win a laugh. He has appeared on Netflix and in several movies and has even made guest appearances in music videos. He also is a frequent guest on national radio shows and podcasts. Bruce easily weaves real life situations into comedic stories in this show featuring all new material. Tickets are $42. Sportable's River City Classic will return in the 2025-26 National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA) season at the Henrico Sports and Events Center Jan. 31 and Feb. 1. The premier wheelchair basketball tournament will feature top adult and youth teams from across the East Coast. As part of the festivities, Sportable will host the Virginia Adaptive Sports Festival on Jan. 31 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The festival is the largest showcase of sports and recreational opportunities for people with disabilities on the East Coast. Attendees are invited to try out one of the sports adapted for people with limited mobility or a physical or visual impairment. There will also be sport and vendor demos. Learn about the history and versatility of the ukulele as an instrument at Tuckahoe Library, 1901 Starling Drive, on Saturday, Jan. 31 from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. This ukulele-centric concert includes a variety of pieces from pop and rock genres in addition to traditional tunes. Multiple musicians from Virginia Ukapalooza will be on-hand to demonstrate the music and beauty of the instrument and answer questions about both the ukulele and their organization, which hosts the premier ukulele festival in Virginia each year. The University of Richmond's Modlin Center for the Arts will present Davóne Tines & Ruckus on Sunday, Feb. 1 from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Camp Concert Hall. Together, Tines and the band will explore four centuries of American music with reimagined songs, hymns and ballads in a meditation and interrogation centered around the Black American experience.
