The Concert Ballet of Virginia will present "The Nutcracker Suite" at Discovery United Methodist Church, 13000 Gayton Road, on Friday, Nov. 21 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Talented dancers will bring this beloved holiday story to life through beautiful music, dazzling costumes and enchanting choreography. The Henrico Theatre Company will present "Once Upon a Mattress" Nov. 21-22 at 7 p.m. and Nov. 23 at 3 p.m. at The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen. The show is a comedic musical retelling of the fairytale, "The Princess and the Pea." In a kingdom where a curse has silenced the king, Queen Aggravain rules with an iron fist, forbidding marriages until Prince Dauntless finds a princess who can pass her sensitivity test. Princess Winnifred tries to woo the prince while navigating Queen Aggravain's schemes and a sensitivity test involving a pea under twenty mattresses. Songs include Shy, In a Little While, Sensitivity, Spanish Panic, Happily Ever After, and many more. The Hermitage Band and Auxiliary Boosters will host its third annual Holiday Craft Market on Saturday, Nov. 22 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Hermitage High School. Shop for unique holiday gifts and decorations while supporting the band and orchestra students at Hermitage HS. Admission is free. The Richmond Craft Show will take place at the Henrico Sports and Events Center on Nov. 22 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Nov. 23 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Discover a wide variety of handmade crafts, jewelry, art and more from talented local artisans. The Richmond VA Comicon will take place Saturday, Nov. 22 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Richmond Raceway Complex. There will be a costume contest in addition to a variety of exhibitors and artists selling comics and toys. Tickets start at $12.99 and are available online only; no tickets will be sold at the door.
