Short Pump Town Center will host its 11th Annual Grand Illumination in the Main Plaza on Friday, Nov. 14 at 6 p.m. Welcome Santa and kick off the holiday season with festive treats, family fun and holiday entertainment. Admission is free. Click here for details.

The Libbie Mill - Midtown neighborhood will illuminate for the season during its Merry Midtown event on Friday, Nov. 14 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The evening will include free carriage rides, food trucks, a live DJ, and a vendor market. In addition, ACACIA Midtown will be serving seasonal favorites like hot toddy, eggnog and hot chocolate, while Shagbark will offer their famous Shagnog. Admission is free. J.R. Tucker High School's Drama Department will present "Once Upon a One More Time" Nov. 14-15 at 7 p.m. and Nov. 16 at 2 p.m. This musical, set in a fantasy storybook, is based on popular songs by Britney Spears. Purchase tickets for $8 here.

The Shady Grove Coffeehouse at the Unitarian Universalist Community Church in Glen Allen will present award-winning Richmond singer-songwriter Susan Greenbaum on Saturday, Nov. 15 at 7:30 p.m. With five CD releases to her credit, Greenbaum's music receives significant national airplay on Americana, folk and country stations. Country/Americana music website “Roughstock” calls her “a songwriting talent to be reckoned with,” comparing her writing and singing to Mary Chapin Carpenter and Bonnie Raitt. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door; teens 13-18 are admitted at half price, and children 12 and under are free. Doors open at 7 p.m. Coffee, tea, and baked goods are available for purchase. The Shady Grove Coffeehouse is a folk music concert series now in its 24th season. Silk and Sol LLC will host Peru Fest at 1000 Virginia Center Parkway in Glen Allen on Sunday, Nov. 16 from noon to 5 p.m. Celebrate the culture, food, music, art and community of Peru through authentic dishes, artisan crafts, and cultural performances.
