Comedian, actor, writer and producer Damon Williams will perform at The Funny Bone in Short Pump at 7 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31 and at 6:30 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1. For eight years, Williams sat in The Funny Chair on the Tom Joyner Morning Show, contributing his unique sense of humor to the program. In addition, Williams recently executive produced and hosted his own eight-episode series, Laugh Tonight with Damon Williams, which is now streaming on UrbanflixTV. Pirate Dog Cards & Collectibles will host RVA Expo 3 at the Richmond Raceway Complex from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 1-2. There will be up to 210 tables of sports cards, TCG, memorabilia, autographs, non-sports and collectibles. DJ Eddo Face will perform live and attendees can meet and take pictures with Nutzy and Nutasha (11 a.m.) and Pikachu (12 p.m. and 3 p.m.). General admission is $2; early entry at 9:15 a.m. is $5. Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden will present "African Violets 101" from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1. Step into the vibrant world of the Gesneriaceae family - a diverse group of plants known for their beautiful blooms, unique foliage, and fascinating growth habits. During the class, attendees will learn how to best care for these beauties and keep them alive for years to come. Students will propagate their own gesneriad and learn to repot one, taking home two freshly-potted plants. All materials are provided. Cost is $60 for Garden members and $72 for non-members. The Gayton Kirk Presbyterian Church, 11421 Gayton Road, will hold a Community Chili Cook-Off on Sunday, Nov. 2 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. In addition to the chili competition, there will be live music by the Wild Honey Band. Tea, lemonade and cornbread will be served as well. Prizes will be awarded for Judges' Choice and People's Choice. Admission is $10. All proceeds benefit the local food pantry satellite of Feed More.
