Participants in SPARC summer camps will present two free productions at the Henrico Theatre Aug. 8-9. "Dare to Dream Jr." - a musical revue that follows an eager group of trainees on their first day at a fictional Walt Disney Imagineering Studio - will be performed on Friday, Aug. 8 at 3:45 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. "Frozen Kids" - a stage adaptation of the beloved film that follows Anna, Elsa, Olaf and Sven on an ice-filled journey of self-discovery, camaraderie and the real meaning of true love - will be performed on Saturday, Aug. 9 at 3:45 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. For details, call the box office at (804) 652-1460.

Actor and stand-up comedian Don "DC" Curry will perform at the Richmond Funny Bone in Short Pump on Aug. 8 at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., Aug. 9 at 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m., and on Aug. 10 at 6:30 p.m. Curry is most widely recognized for his comedic acting role as the zany “Uncle Elroy” on the urban classics, “Next Friday” and “Friday After Next.” He was the host of BET Comic View and starred in his own Comedy Central Special and BET Comedy Special. The Heartfulness Meditation Center, located at 2230 East Parham Road, will host HeartFest 2025 on Saturday, Aug. 9 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. HeartFest is a free wellness festival designed to help participants reconnect, rejuvenate and rejoice. Indoors, there will be sessions exploring meditation, mindfulness, breathwork, emotional wellness and healing sounds while outdoors, attendees can participate in yoga, Japanese drumming, Tai Chi, BollyX and more. Studio Two Three's mobile printing truck will visit Libbie Mill Library, 2100 Libbie Lake East Street, for an end of summer reading activity on Saturday, Aug. 9 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. All ages are invited to learn the art of screen printing. Henrico Recreation and Parks and Dorey Park Farmers Market will host Second Saturdays, an evening summer concert series at the market. Concerts will start at 7 p.m. with gates opening an hour prior. The performer on Aug. 9 is Mother's Little Helpers, a Rolling Stones tribute band. There will be food trucks and wine/beer sales on site. No outside alcohol is permitted.
