The Henrico Theatre Company will take a comical look at one of the country's most beloved voices in "Erma Bombeck: At Wit's End" June 27-28 at 7 p.m. and June 29 at 3 p.m. at the Henrico Theatre in Highland Springs. Discover the story behind this American humorist who championed women’s lives with wit that sprang from the truth. Starring Amy Berlin as Erma Bombeck. Directed by Melissa Rayford. To kick off summer, Henrico Master Gardeners will hold an event Saturday, June 28 to celebrate flowering plants and the vital role they play in providing food for honeybees, butterflies and other pollinators. The "Saturday in the Garden" event will be held from 10 a.m. to noon in the Pollinator Garden at Short Pump Park, 3329 Pump Road. Master Gardeners will share information about pollinators and help youth make fruit shish kebabs. Games and crafts for children also will be available. Rewind Vintage and and Furnace Pizza will host a Retro Vibes Market on Saturday, June 28 from noon to 5 p.m. at Marshall Springs at Gayton West, located at 4501 Marshall Run Circle in Glen Allen. The market will feature over 30 vendors selling vintage clothes, retro video games, nostalgic odds and ends, artwork, trading cards, and more. The FreeHorse Arts Songwriters Series celebrating the music of Bill Withers will take place at The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen on Saturday, June 28 at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Kori Withers, singer, songwriter and daughter of Bill Withers, will be joined by FreeHorse Arts musicians and special guests from the Richmond music and dance communities including members from City Dance, Weekend Plans, and the First African Baptist Church Choir. The CSz Richmond Theater, 8906-H West Broad Street, will present "Yaaas And: Come Play & Come Slay" in honor of Pride Month on Saturday, June 28 at 9:30 p.m. This is an interactive improv show where audience members are encouraged to jump in, play games, laugh and shine right alongside CSz performers. No experience is required, just a spirit of fun and a willingness to slay. The 18 and older show is about community, creativity and connection.
