Richmond International Airport ranked 37th on the Washington Post’s list of the 50 best airports in the nation, published June 26.
The newspaper collected data on more than 450 U.S. airports with at least 1,000 passenger departures in 2024 and analyzed feedback from more than 2,300 readers to identify their priorities in an airport, then weighted key factors and ranked the airports.
In their report, Post reporters wrote that reader nominations and Yelp reviews “make it clear that you prefer smaller airports.”
The Post’s team ranked airports based upon reader votes (adjusted so that they wouldn’t skew toward places with the most Post readers), ease of access, ease of navigation, food and shopping options, on-time flights and “cool things” (unique features that helped airports stand out).
