Varina Ruritan Club's Big Toy Parade raises $2k for Henrico Christmas Mother

The Varina Ruritan Club held its annual Big Toy Parade Dec. 13 on Osborne Turnpike in Varina, an event that helps benefit the Henrico Christmas Mother program.
The two-mile parade included a number of colorful floats, cars, marchers and Santa and Mrs. Claus as it traveled from River Bend Estates to Osborne Landing, where the club had food trucks and games waiting for parade-goers.
The Ruritan Club recognized Wilmer Stoneman as its First Citizen of the Year during the parade, during which he rode in a truck sponsored by the club and driven by club president Buddy Whitlow.
At its December meeting, the club donated a check for $2,000 to Henrico Christmas Mother Ann McGee.
