Hangry Joe’s Hot Chicken & Wings, 11624 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: open cup of drinking water found in kitchen; spray bottle containing glass cleaner is unlabeled; bulk bin of rice flour is unlabeled; long cutting boards on prep units are scored and stained; wire racks in walk-in cooler are covered in old food debris; two mops are not hung or inverted to air dry.

Genghis Grill, 11849 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a follow-up inspection: paper towels are again unavailable at hand sink in bar and are also unavailable at hand sink across from three-compartment sink; there is 0 ppm of quat sanitizer in three-compartment sink again; temperatures of two large tubs of rice and noodles are elevated; a large tub of rice isn’t marked with a preparation date.

Mr. Wong II Chinese Restaurant, 8715 Shrader Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: person in charge washed hands at three-compartment sink instead of hand sink; dried food debris found on can opener; temperature of garlic in oil on cookline is elevated; bulk bins of sugar, flour, msg and salt are unlabeled; several containers of food in walk-in cooler are uncovered; absorbent cork board panels are being used to line shelves in walk-in cooler and dry storage; fryer baskets are heavily bent; rice cooker handle and gasket of reach-in are held together with duct tape; wings are stored in container lined with printed menus; dried food debris found under racks in dry storage; observed grease and residue on cookline floor.

Arby’s, 5205 Brook Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: an employee washed, rinsed, sanitized and then rinsed the tomato slicer again; temperatures of boats of meat (turkey, Greek meat) in pans in make table are elevated; temperature of portioned broccoli in reach-in cooler is elevated; spray bottle of cleaner is stored on shelf next to spices and scoop for spices; observed improper cooling methods for sweet potatoes and baked potatoes (cooling in reach-in and walk-in coolers with lids securely installed, causing condensation); food employee and person in charge have unrestrained hair; spice scoop is sitting on a dirty shelf; single-service containers are not covered or inverted to protect from contamination; reach-in cooler and walk-in freezer gaskets are torn; cutting boards at make table are heavily scratched and stained; gaskets of reach-in cooler and the underside of shelving above three-compartment sink are dirty; tops of microwaves are dirty with food debris; there is white fuzz growing in gaps in racks in walk-in cooler; y-valve attached to two hoses at mop sink doesn’t have the proper backflow prevention device installed; hose of chemical dispenser is hanging below flood rim of mop sink; door of outdoor dumpster was left open; mop isn’t hung or inverted to air dry; observed grease and debris buildup on floor under table of steam cabinet; floors and walls under and around mop and three-compartment sinks have grime and mold buildup on them; there are food splashes on ceiling; food debris and grime buildup found along baseboard and floor joint in walk-in freezer; y-valve at mop sink and pipes near/under mop and three-compartment sinks are coated in grease and debris; air vents above oven are rusty; piece of wall is coming off next to the walk-in freezer door.

Arby’s, 4250 Pouncey Tract Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: top reach-in unit storing take-out containers is covered in a layer of black buildup; long cutting board on prep unit is scored and stained; gasket liner on top reach-in unit next to prep line is torn; there is a direct plumbing connection underneath the three-compartment sink; dumpster area is dirty and surrounded by loose trash and debris.

The Burg, 201 Towne Center West Boulevard – The following violations were reported during a follow-up inspection: raw chicken is again stored above ready-to-eat food items in walk-in cooler; gasket liner on walk-in cooler door is still torn.

Elephant Thai Restaurant, 11676 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: facility couldn’t provide written procedures for cleaning up vomit and diarrhea; no hand soap available at two hand sinks; hand sink in sushi bar is blocked by empty trash cans and cardboard boxes; dirty dishes found stored in hand sink in the bar; raw meat is stored above ready-to-eat sauces in walk-in cooler; soda nozzle in bar is covered in dust and debris; there is 0 ppm of chloride sanitizer in the dishwasher; temperatures of Sunday pork, chicken cashewhot, eggplant and tofu on the buffet line are too low; can of Raid is stored in the ware wash area; observed two live, small roaches and a large number of roach carcasses (too numerous to count) found behind cooking equipment, dry storage shelves, and underneath three-compartment sink; buckets of raw meats are stored directly on walk-in freezer floor; two rice scoops are stored in two containers of standing water; top prep shelf storing take-out containers is covered in a layer of black debris; gasket liners are torn on two reach-in freezer doors and on right-side door of lowboy unit in sushi bar; two fryer baskets have broken off metal pieces; drying rack above three-compartment sink is dirty; dumpster area is dirty and surrounded by loose trash and debris; floors underneath cookline and walls behind cookline are covered in a thick layer of grease buildup; ceiling vents in kitchen are surrounded by dust.

IHOP, 10151 Brook Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: employee cracked shell eggs and failed to remove soiled gloves before touching plate and bread to make toast; dried food splatter found in microwave; observed dried food residue on milkshake blender attachment; temperatures of portioned marinara in top of make table at expo and American cheese slices are elevated; y-valve attached to mop sink faucet doesn’t have the proper backflow prevention device installed; there is ice buildup on side of condenser unit in walk-in freezer; coving tile next to mop sink is broken; there are water damaged/moldy ceiling tiles in dining room; floor drains in dish room and under prep sink are soiled; observed splatter on wall behind hand sink/drainboard in dish area; lights are dim at end of cookline above make table and hand sink (a couple of lights are out in this area because of a water leak).

Q Barbecue, 1070 Virginia Center Parkway – The following violations were reported during a follow-up inspection: person in charge is not ensuring employees are adequately cooling TCS foods within six hours or ensuring staff are monitoring cold holding temperatures of TCS foods throughout kitchen; back hand sink doesn’t have a handwashing sign posted; bin of chili in three-door reach-in doesn’t have a date mark; pans of beans in walk-in cooler are cooling while stacked and covered with foil and lids; single-service containers are being used as scoops in chili and Brunswick Stew; dish drying racks, toxics rack and walk-in cooler racks are rusted; there is a leak from y-valve at mop sink; y-valve attached to mop sink faucet doesn’t have the proper dual check valve installed; mop isn’t hung or inverted to air dry; ceiling air vents and air returns are coated in dust and mildew; ceiling air vents are rusted.

Performance Pickleball RVA, 8641 Quioccasin Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: temperatures of cooked chicken packaged in plastic bins and portioned shredded cheese in make table are elevated; pickled squash in lowboy and sliced cheese in walk-in cooler are past their expiration dates; cleaners are stored above bottled water in dry storage room; there is 0 ppm of sanitizer in sani bucket for wiping cloths; cutting board at make table is scratched and stained; facility couldn’t provide test strips for dish machine at bar; ecolab sidekick is installed at mop sink without a dual check valve; there is a leak from cold water pipe to mop sink; installed hoses at mop sink are laying below flood rim.

Applebee’s, Richmond International Airport – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: temperatures of egg, hashbrowns and deli meat in lowboy are elevated; water is leaking from this lowboy; there is ice buildup on units; racks are rusty; some equipment is broken; observed buildup on equipment along cookline and on racks; floor under cookline is in disrepair; there is low grouting at bar; observed debris and grime buildup in drains and under equipment.

Cross Grains, Richmond International Airport – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: there is 0 ppm of sanitizer in sani bucket; there are torn gaskets on units; racks in units are rusty; there is a missing covering plate on reach-in causing dust to collect; observed chipping paint; there is low grouting in cooking and dish areas; some floor tiles are cracked; cleaning is needed behind grill and units; some ceiling tiles in kitchen are stained.

Ironclad Coffee Roasters, Concourse B at Richmond International Airport – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: tongs and spatula are stored in water; air temperature of small reach-in is elevated.

Cheeburger Cheeburger/Sam Adams, Concourse B at Richmond International Airport – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: there is 0 ppm of sanitizer in bar dish machine; observed chipping paint; some ceiling tiles are stained; there is a light out under hood.

Club Level Grill, Terminal B at Richmond International Airport – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: salmon is thawing while still in reduced oxygen packaging; there is rust on sides of equipment and some racks; some gaskets are torn; nozzle and faucet on three-compartment sink are in poor condition; observed buildup of food debris along the corner of the floor and under units and sinks; there is grease on hood filters; observed low grouting and cracked floor tiles in dish area.
