Olive Garden Italian Restaurant, 7113 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: dried food found on scoops and dicer; temperatures of tomatoes and lettuce in salad prep unit are elevated, possibly because the unit’s fans have ice buildup on them; employee prepping plates is wearing a bracelet; observed buildup of grease on cook line, hot holding unit and broiler; there is a buildup of grime under the dish area; observed low grouting throughout kitchen.

Chanello’s Pizza, 5239 South Laburnum Avenue – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: back hand sink doesn’t have paper towels or handwash signage posted; front hand sink doesn’t have hot water; no date marks found on tomatoes, wings, bagged chicken or deli meat; to-go containers are not stored inverted on shelf; observed mold on walk-in racks; observed debris on outside of equipment throughout facility; there are broken and cracked coving tiles; paint is chipping on walls; there are holes in the wall.

Tasty Crab, 7801-A West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: facility doesn’t have an employee health policy in place; observed buildup inside ice machine and soda nozzles; temperature of garlic butter boil sauce in reach-in unit is elevated (exceeded cooling time because it was placed in a closed container last night after being stored hot in steam well); temperatures of sliced tomatoes, shredded crab, cheese and spinach dip, and cooked chicken in prep unit are elevated; observed a few fruit flies at the bar; grease and dried food debris found on stove, reach-in units and shelving; there are burned out bulbs in walk-in freezer and above hood; tiles are cracked and missing in walk-in freezer; observed grease buildup on hood systems; dried food and grease found on floors; ceiling vents are dusty.

Last Chance, 5114 Richmond Henrico Turnpike – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: there isn’t a certified food protection manager on staff; women’s restroom doesn’t have any handwash signage posted; kitchen hand sink, employee restroom hand sink and dish room hand sink are all missing paper towels; outdoor dumpster doors were left open; dried food stains found on kitchen walls; ceiling tile in kitchen is dusty; there are stained ceiling tiles in front of house, kitchen and women’s restroom; light intensity is too low in kitchen prep and cook areas.

Waffle House, 5102 Williamsburg Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: employee failed to change gloves after cracking raw eggs and before handling clean plates and ready-to-eat foods; employee with long facial hair isn’t wearing a beard guard; condiment carts and walk-in cooler wire racks are rusted.

Dunkin’ Donuts, 10600 Patterson Avenue – The following violation was reported during a routine inspection: employee with long facial hair isn’t wearing a beard guard.

The Answer Brewpub Co., 6008 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a follow-up inspection: facility doesn’t have a certified food protection manager on staff; mold found inside ice machine; dried food debris found on meat slicer blade and base; temperatures of tofu, brisket and sliced cucumbers in walk-in cooler are slightly elevated, possibly because the fan has ice blocking the vents; there are dried food stains on walls throughout kitchen; wire storage racks throughout kitchen are dirty, greasy and dusty; new reach-in cooler still has white wrap on it; lamb and beef are cooling in tightly-covered containers; cutting boards are stained and scored; sides of hot line cooking equipment are greasy; three-door reach-in cooler has a torn door gasket; walk-in cooler fan guards are dusty; beer tubes in walk-in cooler are moldy; oven on hot line exterior is dirty.

Marco’s Pizza, 2284 John Rolfe Parkway – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: temperatures of ham, sliced tomato, chicken wings and salami in sandwich prep unit are elevated; chicken wings are in covered, deep containers during the cooling process; employee with facial hair isn’t wearing a beard guard; sandwich prep cutting board is heavily scratched and stained; wire racks storing equipment are rusted; small prep unit is not holding foods at the required temperature.

La Rancherita, 3423 Cox Road – No violations reported during a follow-up inspection.

Waffle House, 11900 Church Road – The following violation was reported during a routine inspection: observed dried food debris on racks inside reach-in cooler.

YaYa’s Cook Book, 11674 West Broad Street – No violations reported during a follow-up inspection.

California Pizza Kitchen, 11800 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a follow-up inspection: raw salmon fillets in the walk-in cooler are again thawing while still in vacuum sealed packaging; bulk bin in dry storage area is still unlabeled; wire racks in the walk-in cooler are still peeling.
