Portions of Meadow Road, Bethlehem Road and Lakeside Avenue will be closed for extended periods of time beginning Wednesday, Nov. 5 for various improvement projects. Residents should expect delays and seek alternate routes in the respective areas, according to Henrico Public Works officials.
Meadow Road will close between Woodview Drive and the railroad tracks through May, to allow for the replacement of the bridge over Boar Swamp Creek. A detour will send traffic along Meadow, Dry Bridge and East Williamsburg roads.
Bethlehem Road will close between Libbie and Boyle avenues for 10 to 12 weeks for the installation of sanitary sewer lines. This closure is part of an overall project to improve traffic and pedestrian accommodations on Bethlehem. A detour will divert traffic to Dickens Road, West Broad Street and Libbie.
Lakeside Avenue will close between Fairway Avenue and the driveway to the Lakeside Park Club for two weeks for utility service installation and upgrades prior to an upcoming project to replace the bridge over North Run Creek. A detour will send vehicles along Lakeside, Hilliard Road and Brook Road.
Timelines for all three closures are estimates and weather-dependent.
