Police identify woman fatally struck on Glenside Drive in Henrico

A woman was hit and killed by a driver in the Near West End Dec. 30, according to Henrico Police.
The crash happened at the intersection of Glenside Drive and Inglewood Street just before 6 p.m.
Police have identified the woman as Barbara Ann Jones, 62, of Henrico.
Police said the preliminary investigation shows that Jones and a man were crossing the northbound lanes of Glenside Drive when a Hyundai Santa Fe tried to brake for the pedestrians and swerved to avoid them, but ultimately hit Jones.
"The driver of the Hyundai remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation," police said.
