Planning Commission scheduled to weigh 103-home proposal in Eastern Henrico

Table of Contents

The Henrico Planning Commission is scheduled to review several development proposals at its Dec. 11 meeting:

• In Eastern Henrico, a developer is planning a 103-home neighborhood, tentatively named “Steeple Lane,” on North Laburnum Avenue, south of its intersection with Kingsridge Parkway. This proposal has been deferred twice from October to allow the developer more time to address Henrico Planning Department feedback and meet with the community.

• In Tuckahoe, a carwash is being proposed at the northeast intersection of Patterson Avenue and Quail Lane on the site of a former KFC. Planners wrote that they would support the proposal if the site is designed to minimize impacts to the nearby Ridgecrest and Greenbrier Hills neighborhoods.

• In Varina, planners are recommending endorsement of a request to rezone one acre of floodplain next to the Arcadia subdivision on Willson Road, near New Market Road, to create a conservation district and environmental protection area.

The commission’s recommendations on these proposals will be heard for a final decision by the Henrico Board of Supervisors at a January meeting.

The commission's meeting will be held at 6 p.m. in the Board Room of the Administration Building at the Western Government Center (4301 East Parham Road). Members of the public who wish to attend in person or via livestream can find more information online.
