Pedestrian hospitalized after hit-and-run crash on Brook Road

A person was hospitalized after being hit by a driver in Henrico County on Sunday night, police confirmed Monday.
Officers responded to Brook Road at Bridgeport Avenue around 7:45 p.m. for a reported medical emergency. Once on scene, officers located an adult male in the northbound lanes with obvious signs of trauma. He was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries where he remains hospitalized.
According to police, the preliminary investigation indicates the man was in the roadway when he was hit by a driver in the middle lane. The driver then drove away from the scene.
