Victor Anthony Shaheen, of Richmond, passed away on June 20, 2025. Born in Richmond on August 23, 1953, he was preceded in death by his parents, Faiz P. Shaheen and Suad H. Shaheen.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Janice Bracone Shaheen, and their three sons: Victor A. Shaheen II (wife, Hannah), Faiz T. Shaheen (wife, Ceanna), and Blaise K.  Shaheen (wife, Hayley); as well as his cherished granddaughter, Makenna. He is also survived by his siblings, Kathy Shaheen Jerpe (husband, Tom), Robin Shaheen Seay (husband, Chuck), and Arthur V. Shaheen (wife, Susan), along with many extended family members and dear friends. He found joy in the companionship of his beloved dogs—Zeus, Nike, and Sampson.

Victor graduated from St. Christopher’s School in 1972, where he played on the varsity basketball team. He went on to attend the University of Richmond and later earned his law degree from the University of Richmond T.C. Williams School of Law in 1980. After passing the Virginia Bar, he began practicing law with the firm White, Blackburn & Conte. During this time, he was often found at his father’s business, Phil’s Continental Lounge on Grove Avenue, where he formed many lifelong friendships.

In 1995, Victor partnered with his brother Arthur to found Shaheen & Shaheen, P.C. (now Shaheen Law Firm, P.C.), combining their talents to build one of the most successful law firms in the greater Richmond area. Arthur later opened his own practice in Blacksburg in 2010. Under Victor’s leadership, Shaheen Law Firm, P.C. grew to become one of the highest-volume real estate closing firms in the Mid-Atlantic, with offices in Richmond, Virginia Beach, Newport News, and Fredericksburg. Victor was honored to serve thousands of families and businesses throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Victor took immense pride in seeing Victor II, Faiz, and Blaise graduate from the University of Richmond T.C. Williams School of Law, join the family law firm, and become practicing attorneys. Their involvement in the firm stood as a testament to the values of service, integrity, and community that Victor exemplified throughout his life and career. He often told those close to him that this was his greatest achievement.

Victor was an active member of the Commonwealth Club and Bon Air Title, an affiliate member of the Richmond Association of Realtors, and participated in numerous local and national real estate organizations. He was a devoted member of St. Anthony’s Maronite Catholic Church and took great pride in his Lebanese heritage.
