Sheila Lilly Johnson, of Glen Allen, Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at the age of 77.

Born on August 28, 1947, in Richmond, Virginia, Sheila was the only child of Robert Paul Lilly and Nora McQuaid Lilly. A graduate of Hermitage High School’s Class of 1965, Sheila began a career with the Federal Bureau of Investigation in 1966. Over the next eight years, she advanced through several roles, from File Clerk to Telephone Operator and ultimately to Clerk-Stenographer, before stepping away in 1974 to focus full-time on raising her family.

In 1985, Sheila returned to the workforce, enjoying many years working in Food Service for Henrico County Public Schools at both Hermitage High School and Ridge Elementary School. She also worked at St. Joseph’s Villa and spent 14 years as a Secretary at Pestmasters.

During retirement, Sheila participated in the Henrico County Senior Citizens Academy, a program that brought her great joy.

Sheila was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Richard Boehling Johnson, and her parents, Robert and Nora Lilly. She is survived by her two daughters Karen Meier (Stephen) and Christine Cooper (John), as well as six grandchildren: Hannah, Noam, Preston, Bryce, Jeremiah, and Rebekah.

The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to the caregivers at Commonwealth Senior Living for their care and compassion during the time she spent living there in her later years.

A memorial service will be held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Glen Allen, Virginia, on Friday June 20, 2025. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the Day Chapel/Commons with a Funeral Mass immediately following at 10:30 a.m. in the Worship Space. A Reception in the Parish Hall will follow.

A loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Sheila will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be considered to the Lymphoma Research Foundation or Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
