Obituary - Patricia Ann Pryor Worthy

Patricia Ann Pryor Worthy was born on April 14, 1941, in Henrico County, VA. She was predeceased in death by her parents, Frederick Morse Pryor, Sr and Ida Marie Taylor Pryor Hart, and her sister-in-law Louise N. Lomax Pryor. She departed this life on April 22, 2025, peacefully in her home in Gardena, CA, at the age of 84. Born Patricia Ann Pryor, she was baptized in the home church Quioccasin Baptist Church. She graduated from St. Francis De Sales High School, Class of 1959. Affectionately called Ann, she attended Virginia State College in September of 1959. She married Kenneth Johnson. To this union one son Keith Johnson was born. Later in 1961 she and her son moved to California, where she worked for various companies specializing in Human Resources. This career included some international travel including a special assignment to Kuwait during the Persian Gulf War.
On April 22, 1995, she happily married Charles L. Worthy where they had common interests and activities such as bowling, fishing and vintage cars.
After retirement, she excelled in volunteer work with many organizations including Gardena Valley Kiwanis Club, Meals on Wheels, and served as a Senior Citizens Commissioner for the City of Los Angeles and member of Gardena Beautification Committee and the Gardena Annual Jazz Festival.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles “Chuck’’ L. Worthy. She is survived by her loving son Keith M. Johnson (Michele), grandson Christopher “Chris” M. Johnson (Veronica); great-grandchildren Zoey and Jordan Johnson; devoted brothers Frederick “Fred” Morse Pryor, Jr. (Cynthia) and Jesse “Jay” Taylor Pryor (Connie); nieces and nephews; the Moss, Pryor, Taylor families, other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held Friday, August 8th at 11:00 am at Scott's Chapel, 116 E. Brookland Park Blvd, Richmond, VA 23222.
