Nancy Warbritton Brumfield passed peacefully on May 27, 2025, after a valiant battle with Stage 4 uterine cancer. She faced her final days as she lived her life—with strength, grace, and a loving presence that brought comfort to everyone around her. Even in illness, Nancy was known for caring as deeply for her caregivers as they did for her.

Born on August 29, 1949, in Omaha, Nebraska, Nancy grew up in a military family and experienced life in many places before settling in Mechanicsville, Virginia, during her senior year of high school—a community she proudly called home.

Nancy served as manager of Raintree Swim & Racquet Club, where her leadership and warmth made a lasting impression. She was also deeply proud to be a founding associate at CarMax, where she dedicated 23 years before her retirement in 2017. Her colleagues remember her for her compassion, kindness, and great sense of humor.

A devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, Nancy cheered with passion every season. She also loved scrapbooking and made special memory books each year for each of her grandchildren. She never missed a sporting event or activity, always showing up with pride and enthusiasm for the people she loved.

She is survived by her two daughters, Dondi (Jim) and Kristi (Joe), and her beloved grandchildren: Brandon, Bradley, Taylor, and Zack. Nancy is also survived by her siblings: Rita Lukhard (preceded in death by her husband, John), Sherry Hawa (Billy), Karen Butler (Dave), and Alan Armentrout (Linda), as well as many beloved nieces and nephews who brought her joy throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Fran, and her stepfather, Jim Garnett. Nancy carried forward the example set by her mother, who taught her the value of holding a family together even in the most difficult times—a lesson Nancy embodied with quiet strength and unwavering love.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 1st from 2:00–5:00 PM at Woody Funeral Home – Parham, 1771 N Parham Rd, Richmond, VA 23229.
