Marjorie Spatz Tuck, beloved mother and friend, of Richmond, VA, passed away on March 19, 2026. She was born in Newark, NJ on April 23, 1960 to Paul F. Spatz, of blessed memory, and Norma Spatz (Garodnick), who survive her, and grew up in Livingston, NJ.

She is survived by her mother and her cherished children - Richard “Rick,” David, and Emily - to whom she devoted much of her time and attention for over 30 years. She is also survived by their father, Jeffrey Tuck, her siblings Jennifer and George, and Allison and Ralph, and many dear friends, including Eric Dement. She was predeceased by her father Paul Spatz, and her sister Cynthia, of blessed memory.

Margi was a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University. Her professional journey spans from pharmaceutical tech, barista, caterer, teacher, Bloomingdale’s associate, Pampered Chef saleswoman, camp counselor, teaching cooking classes at Jefferson Lakes Day Camp, working at her father’s oil company in the summer, interior designer, and office manager. In her later years, Margi worked at Dement Energy Services, and supported the Tuckahoe Rescue Squad through many special events and fundraisers.

Margi is known for being loving, empathetic, passionate, kind, witty, caring, and selfless. Her sense of humor and intelligence made her a sparkling conversationalist, always peppered with her opinions and a dash of sarcasm. Underneath it all, Margi really just loved being a part of her children’s lives, seeing them flourish, and giving of herself to others - whether it be food, time, or taking an interest in their lives.

She offered endless recipes, advice, and grammar edits. She loved show tunes, especially The Sound of Music, and the arts. She was a proud pet mom of Peanut and the late Charlie. She also loved being a mentor, making sure everyone around her felt loved, heard, and never hungry. She was truly the definition of a “hostess with the mostess.”

Margi supported various charities throughout her life. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Margi’s memory to your favorite charity or one of hers:
