Obituary - Marilyn Allen Royster

Marilyn Allen Royster, of Henrico County, Virginia, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Mary White and Tazewell Lightfoot, III. Marilyn was preceded in death by her siblings, Luther (Sonny) Allen, Sr., Lorine Jordan, Melvin (Peter) Allen and Harry Lee Allen, Sr. 

Surviving are her loving daughter, Tanya D. Royster; love of her life, Christopher R. Washington; seven grandchildren, Tiarra, Linwood, TaShayla, Turque, Brianna, Sharise and Chris, Jr.; three great grandchildren, Masiah, Brelle and Arnesha; God grandchildren, Oddessey and MyKevia; bonus daughter and sons, Alicia Dickson (Earl), Christopher D. Washington and Damon C. Watson; four sisters, Mary (Mack) Johnson, Florence Robinson (Archer Willie), Jeannette Jones and Hazel Allen; two sisters-in-law, Gloria Allen (Luther) and Rev. Barbara Allen (Harry Lee); devoted best friend, Kadedra Donald; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends who will forever treasure her memory.

Remains rest at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E Brookland Park Blvd. where viewing will be held Monday, November 17, 2025 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. followed by the family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.at Scott's Chapel, 116 E Brookland Park Blvd. and where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 18. Rev. Dr. Luther S. Allen, III, officiant, Rev. Dr. Vincent T. Smith, Sr., eulogist. Interment Rising Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery 3857 Rising Mt. Zion Road, Sandston.
