Joseph Burton Cobb, 92 of Henrico Virginia passed away peacefully to be with his Lord on Friday, October 10, 2025.  He was born on September 10, 1933 in Wilson County, NC, to the late Joseph Lloyd Cobb and Betty Joyner Cobb.  He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Karen Copley Cobb; his brother Mahlon Cobb; sister Janice Wehry; and sister, Hazel Holtzman. He is survived by three children, Sharon Ahlin (Rick), Joseph B Cobb, Jr. (Betsy) and Leslie O’Hern (Tim); three grandchildren, Cameron O’Hern, Braxton O’Hern, and Cliff Boyd.  He was known for his strong work ethics and his unwavering support for his family. Hence the many jobs he held. At a young age he was with 30th Infantry Division with North Carolina National Guard.  He began employment with General Motors Acceptance Corporation (GMAC), Richmond where he retired after 30 years.  While not wanting to retire completely he took on other jobs with Motley‘s Auction Company, Mutual of Omaha, and then 20 years volunteering with the Tactical Support of Henrico Police Organized Crime Unit.  He was presented The Edward F. Sulzbach Jr. (Retired FBI) Award for his many years of dedicated service to the Division of Police.  He was baptized at Grove Avenue Baptist Church, where he was a serving member.  He also had a passion for the Rappahannock River, where he spent his spare time with his family, friends and his beloved long haired dachshund, Rummy.  We would like to thank Affinity Hospice and Beth Sholom for the loving care and compassion that was given to Joseph.  Burial will be a private graveside service on Wednesday, October 15th.
