Obituary - Jo Ann Johnson Seay

Jo Ann Johnson Seay, 88, of Henrico County passed peacefully on August 10, 2025 surrounded by loved ones. She was the last remaining (and youngest!) sibling of the Johnson family which included her brother, James Morgan (Buddy), Emma Daman, Laura Myrtle May, and Margaret Johnson. All five Johnson children were proud to be raised on the farm in Zuni, VA by their parents, Frank and Otelia Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, James Massey Seay, Jr.

Jo Ann is survived by her daughters, Susanne Loving (Bert) and Stephanie Seay; granddaughters, Elizabeth Harper (Ryan) and Jordan Seay; very special niece, Ginny Eley and husband, Robin; and nephew Edwin May Jr.; and numerous other family members.

During her lifetime, she served many administrative roles with A&P Tea Company, Duboy Advertising, W.M. Brown Printing, & Byrd Press before retiring to begin a permanent long-term volunteer role with Trinity Lutheran Church where she had been a member since 1967. Jo Ann enjoyed spending time with her loyal, lifelong friends and family. Her family will miss her very much and will cherish the memories that are left behind.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, August 22, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2315 N. Parham Rd., Richmond, VA 23229. A reception will follow.
