Obituary - Hylton A. Young

Hylton A. "Wimpy" Young, age 91, of Sandston, Virginia, passed away September 25, 2025.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Frances; parents, Charles and Edith Young; brothers, Jimmy and Carty Young; and son-in-law, David Farrow.
He is survived by his two daughters, Lori Johnson (Lin) and Whitney Farrow; four grandchildren, Emily Whittemore (Willie), Matt Johnson (Ashley), Zach Farrow (Suzanne), Shane Farrow (Lyndsey); four great grandchildren, Addison, Jackson, Thomas and Wells Farrow; one brother, Tony Young (Trudy); and many nieces and nephews.
Hylton served in the Army from 1957 to 1963 with a rank of Private First Class. He was a 32nd Degree Mason who was a member of the Masonic Fraternity for 66 years. He was a member of Sandston Baptist Church.
A special thanks go to Kim Hall and her team for their loving support and special care during the last month of his life. He will be greatly missed by his friend and neighbor of 40 years, Zane Huffines.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 1st, at 1:00 PM in Washington Memorial Park Cemetery.
There is comfort in knowing that Hylton’s legacy will live on through the lessons he taught, the love he shared, and the memories he created.
