With profound sorrow, the Anala and Atowe families of Ghana announce the peaceful passing of Grace Lena Anala into eternal life on March 31, 2025, in Glen Allen, Virginia, USA.
Born in Ghana on June 30, 1952, Grace was the beloved eldest daughter of the late Paul and Elizabeth Anala. She received her secondary education at Holy Child Senior High School in Cape Coast, Ghana. In 1976, Grace relocated to St. Louis, Missouri, to pursue her undergraduate studies and later earned a Master's Degree in Urban Studies in Virginia. Her last professional affiliation was with Patient First in Richmond, Virginia where she retired.
Grace is survived by her siblings: Leticia Anala (Ghana), Denysia Wincott (Canada), Reverend Father Tony Anala (New Orleans, USA), Ishmael, Aidan, Joseph, Percy, Anita, Bertrand, and Squadron Leader Peter Anala (all of Ghana). She also leaves behind a multitude of cherished nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
Grace was loving, so caring and true. Her infectious laugh and larger than life personality had the remarkable ability to brighten any room. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Friends and those wishing to honor Grace's memory are invited to visit with the family on Wednesday, May 21st, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at The Bennett Funeral Home, West Chapel, 11020 West Broad St., Glen Allen, VA 23060.
A private family graveside service will take place 10:30 am, Monday June 2, 2025 in Fairview Cemetery, 1100 E Broad St, Westfield, NJ 07090, where her remains will be laid to rest.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Nadi Bernhardine for her unwavering love and comfort provided to Grace during her life. May God bless her.
