Obituary - Erin Jessalyn Elise Featherston

Erin Jessalyn Elise Featherston, born April 6th, 2009, lost her battle with Lymphoma and Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis on November 1, 2025. After eight months of treatment, including a bone marrow transplant in July, her body simply gave out. She is survived by her parents, Sharon and C. Brooks Featherston; her siblings, Evan and Caitlin; and many loving extended family members (including George!)

She was an ambassador-level member of Girl Scouts Troop #5103. She loved to let her “nature buddy” side run wild on camping trips with her fellow “honest and fair, friendly and helpful, considerate and caring, courageous and strong” Girl Scout friends.

She was an 11th grade student at the Center for the Arts at Henrico High School, which was a great fit for her unlimited creativity and imagination. At home, she was a master-manipulator in endless Daddy-Daughter DIY projects, from wheelchairs and picnic tables for stuffed animals to Halloween costumes to Sunday morning pancakes (chocolate ones for her, of course!)

She was an avid Lego architect, decorating every surface of our home (especially the floors) with her finished creations and works-in-progress. She was always planning the next trip to the store for more Lego pieces to add to her collection.
Ever the drama queen, she was our household’s one-woman theater company. And as expected, she was a sassy Aries to the bitter end.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make a contribution to Connor’s Heroes, P.O. Box 5512, Richmond, VA 23220 or the Ronald McDonald House Charity, 2330 Monument Ave, Richmond, VA 23220, both of which were major supports for us throughout Erin’s treatment.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 21st , from 6:00-8:00 pm, and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 22nd, at 3:00 pm. Both services will be held at the Bennett Funeral Home’s West Chapel, 11020 W. Broad St., Glen Allen, VA 23060.
