Bryon Hutson, 46, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026, after a courageous journey with pancreatic cancer over several years.

Born in Brockton, Massachusetts, Bryon moved to Richmond in elementary school and grew up in the Woodman Terrace/Laurel Park area. He attended Henrico County Schools, including Hermitage High School, where he met the love of his life, Laurie. They were married in 2001. Laurie was an unwavering partner, and they shared nearly 30 years of love, laughter, and devotion together.

In 2005, Bryon was involved in an ATV accident that brought lasting changes into his life. The birth of his daughter, Bree, in 2006 marked another turning point and brought him immeasurable joy.

A self-proclaimed Toys “R” Us kid, Bryon was a child at heart. He loved playing video games; collecting Star Wars and Lord of the Rings items, Magic: The Gathering cards, remote-control cars, sports memorabilia, and Monopoly games; and, in recent years, building LEGO sets.

An avid television and movie buff, he especially enjoyed Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings, The AvengersGuardians of the Galaxy, Marvel, The Big Bang TheoryA Christmas Story, Adam Sandler movies, and many late-night talk shows.Bryon loved all New England sports teams, especially the Patriots, Red Sox, Celtics, and Bruins, and enjoyed watching games with family and friends. He absolutely loved all things Boston and his New England family and had been visiting regularly since he could drive. He enjoyed spending time with his cousins, hanging out at cousin Rachel’s house, and playing cribbage with family. Over the past few years, he especially looked forward to weekly check-in phone calls from his Uncle Gerald and Aunt Audrey.Bryon enjoyed many hobbies and adventures, from camping and disc golf to building custom cornhole boards and sewing thousands of cornhole bags for people across the state. He had a passion for smoking meat and cooking for friends and family, and spent hours watching cooking shows and perfecting his craft. Many of these experiences he shared with his buddy Mike, and together they made lasting memories.

Above all else, Bryon cherished being Bree’s father and took great pride in the person she is becoming.

He is survived by his wife, Laurie (Yeary) Hutson; his daughter, Breeann Kosma Hutson; his mother, Patricia Hutson; his brother, Erik Hutson (Jennifer); his sister, Kimberlee Hutson; his loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, and a host of other family and long-time friends, including his brothers from other mothers, Mike Harris, Jeremy Tucker, and Ricky Wiles. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Hutson, and his grandparents, Veronica and Frances Wilson, and William H.R. and Margaret M. Hutson.

His four-legged companions meant the world to him. Blue “The Moose” dog and Sulley “The Monster” kitty will stay behind with his wife and daughter. Reece, Caramel, and Snickers were surely happy to greet him on the other side.
