Brian Lee “Turtle” Bethea, 42, passed away on February 3, 2026, at his home in Henrico, Virginia. Born on February 21, 1983, in Richmond, Virginia, Brian brought his unique spirit and presence to all who knew him.

Brian had a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life. He really loved his stuffed animals; we have lots of pound puppies and pound kitties. His favorite is P.P. Brian also loves his Pooh Bear. He found happiness in watching wrestling and liked collecting Marvel memorabilia. His passion for cooking led him to explore new recipes with enthusiasm, often sharing his culinary creations with those around him. Thrifting was another favorite pastime—he delighted in discovering hidden treasures and unique finds during his outings.

Brian was very caring and loving; he really enjoyed going out with his mom for thrifting and lunch. Brian was very close to his brother and always looked out for him; Brian wanted only the best for Will. Kenny was there for him when he wanted to talk.

At home, Brian cherished quiet moments spent watching television with his wife, Deborah. These shared times reflected the comfort and companionship that defined their relationship. Brian and I had a special kind of marriage; we understood each other with our witty humor.

Brian is predeceased by Anne Lee Royal Winecoff.

Brian is survived by his spouse Deborah Elise Bethea, and step-son, Jessy, Grandfather, Ralph Alan Winecoff, mother and step-father, Susan and Kenny Woods, brother William W Moseley (Lyndsey), Aunt Nancy Callison (Preston), Uncles Steven Winecoff, Thomas Winecoff (Mary), and Robert Winecoff (Dawn), Cousins Thomas Callison, Jessica Callison, Nicholas Winecoff, Nathan Winecoff, Hannah White “Winecoff”, and Austin Winecoff, along with numerous friends.

To summarize everything, Brian really enjoyed being with Grandma and Grandpa Winecoff, and Brian’s memory lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May his memory bring comfort to all who mourn his passing.
