Betsy Berry Williamson of Richmond, Virginia passed away on January 26th, 2026 after 97 years of joy and laughter. Born to Charles and Elizabeth Berry on February 6, 1928 in her beloved Staunton, Virginia. She is survived by her sons Kent and Brad (Traci), daughter in law Marilyn, six grandchildren, Rick Jr. (Stephanie), Christi Carnell (Scott), Matthew (Anna), Melissa (available), Taylor (available), and Morgan (available), and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband R.C. Williamson and son Richard Carter Williamson.

She was a proud graduate of Mary Baldwin College where she earned a degree in teaching. She spent a year as an elementary school teacher before marrying R.C. and having her first son, Rick. She was a loving and selfless mother to her three boys cheering them on at every sporting event and organization they participated in. She was a charter member of Epiphany Lutheran Church where she led the children’s cherub choir for many years and taught Sunday School for over 65 years. She was dedicated to the Epiphany community and making sure anyone that came into the church felt loved and welcomed. She spent the last few years of her life in the loving care at Manorhouse Assisted Living and Memory Care.

Betsy was a good friend to others with the gift of hospitality. She always had an active social calendar and was a part of many clubs including, but not limited to the Sleepy Hollow Garden Club, Tri-Club Women’s Club, church circles, Red Hat Society, numerous bridge clubs, Doll Club,and any other activity she could find. She loved cooking, arranging flowers, water aerobics, theater, and travel. With all of her passions she most enjoyed conversations with people and making new friends. She led her life with love and light. She was always quick to laugh and first to introduce herself. Her spirit and memory will be carried on by her family, friends, and members of Epiphany Lutheran Church.

Visitation with the family will be on Thursday February 5th from 4-7pm at Epiphany Lutheran Church 1400 Horsepen Rd, Richmond, VA 23226. Funeral Service will be held the following day on Friday February 6th at 10:30am at Epiphany Lutheran on what would have been Betsy’s 98th birthday. There will be a short reception following the service. The burial will be private at Greenwood Cemetery.
