Obituary - Benjamin Samson Blumenthal

Benjamin Samson Blumenthal, 80, of Henrico, VA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Salo and Clare Blumenthal; father-in-law, Ed Grimsley; and his brother-in-law, Jim Grimsley Junior. Ben is survived by his wife of 47 years, Penny; son, Michael (Kelly); daughter, Stephanie Small (Will); grandsons, Mason and Finn Blumenthal; granddaughters, Ella, Lily and Sutton Small; his mother-in-law, Ann Grimsley; sister-in-law, Anna Ashworth and brother-in-law, Alan Ashworth and their 4 children Caitlin, Jonathan, Nathan and Jillian.

Ben enjoyed playing his guitar and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hiking and playing disc golf. He enjoyed sharing his outdoor time with family and friends. He loved spending time on the beach in Hilton Head Island, SC with family. He will be loved always and missed dearly.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 20 at Hollywood Cemetery, 412 N. Cherry St., Richmond, VA, 23220. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either Shenandoah National Park Trust at snptrust.org or to the Hilton Head Island Land Trust at hhilandtrust.org.
